Review
“(A) wonderful trip behind the scenes that all its fans who are curious about the creation of animation should take” - Cinema Sentries "expertly handled by experience animation writer (and occasional cartoonist) O’Leary." - Animation Magazine"This is a show I’m a big fan of and it gets a deserving loving treatment in this compilation of drawings, storyboards, concept art and even reference photos of actual objects and places that inspired some of its most iconic episode." - She Movie Geek“My favorite inclusion is the “How to Draw” sections that cover detailed breakdowns for Mordecai, Rigby, Pops and Benson. I’ll have to give a shot! This is great book for any fan of the series or art; it’s visually appealing to all audiences and should inspire the next batch of young animators out there.” - City of Films"If the stunning, textured cover alone doesn’t draw you in (no pun intended), then the artwork inside will." - Mugglenet"I just received a copy and am quite delighted by it. This is the type of book we need more of - an in-depth look at current TV animated series with rare art and interviews with the principal creators" - Indiewire“This books provides exactly the kind of behind-the-curtain information it’s often so difficult to find, like how sub sandwiches factor into which ideas become episodes and which ones don’t. And that’s not even to mention the artwork...To mention the artwork, this book is absolutely covered in conceptual drawings, pencil sketches, promotional material, floor plans for buildings on the show, and full scenes of storyboard-to-screen comparisons!” “10/10” - Project Fandom"If you’re a fan of the TV animated series, you pretty well have to have this book." - Dogpatch Press"A great addition to any Regular Show fan’s collection." - Strange Kids Club

An interesting behind the scenes look at an entertaining show. I especially like how they use a mix of concept art, promotional art and storyboards. It's cool how they go into a good number of characters beyond just the main ones.
Tons of detail and art from characters to promo art and gorgeous landscapes and layouts. It's like having the show in the palm of your hand! The artist commentary is brilliant!
Love it.
Love it!
Item came brand new and perfectly wrapped.
Purchased for 12-year-old Regular Show fan. He rated it 4 out of 5 stars. He enjoyed the book. The book is about the art of the show. It fulfilled its purpose. It showed the art work and the ideas behind the art work. The only reason he didn't give it 5 stars is because he wanted to know more about the original concept behind the show.
Perfect
The Art of Regular Show is a great look into the process of creating the animated television series, Regular Show. It provides a description of the creation of Regular Show - showing JG Quintel’s early drawings and sketches - as well as character development, descriptions of the environments, examples of storyboards, and a “How to Draw†section for the major characters. Especially insightful was the treatment of Quintel’s student films, “2 in the AM PM†and “Naïve Man from Lollilandâ€, which were to provide the initial designs for Mordecai, Benson, and Pops. The text of the book brings together Quintel, storyboard artists, voice talent, and the creative directors for a running narrative on the different topics. Artwork that is highlighted includes: Mordecai & Rigby, Benson, Pops, Skips, Muscle Man, Starla, High Five Ghost, Margaret, CJ, Eileen, Thomas, family members, and many of the minor characters seen over the past 5 years.Episodes like The Pilot, Eggscellent, The Christmas Special, and Exit 9B are given in-depth treatment through the narrative and storyboards. There are also lots of sketches, doodles, and post-its sprinkled throughout (I think my favorite being Mordecai & Rigby watching the Regular Show Premiere). If you are a fan of Regular Show, or an enthusiast of the animated medium, this book is for you!
